It has developed into the fourth largest city in Rajasthan. The Ganges Canal, completed in 1928, and the Indira Gandhi Canal, completed in 1987 helped the city to grow to its current size. Bikaner is famous for its colorful bazaars, heritage mansions, narrow streets and traditional neighborhoods.
